There are many opportunities in the marketplace for an individual to sign up with a firm (licensing firm or law firm), which will attempt to license or generate a patent application on the idea. The firm may give guidance on whether an idea has utility or not and may even give suggestions on how to evolve an idea for licensing or patenting, but its motivation is most often economic in nature, without necessarily helping the individual evolve the idea.
Business incubators are organizations that support the entrepreneurial process. Here the individual already has a reasonable business idea and the incubator is an enterprise that may assist the individual evolve into a business. Here the motivation is to start a business, without necessarily helping the individual evolve the idea into an invention, because the assumption is that the invention is already well understood or is already being protected.
At Idea Parlor we serve as a precursor to the above opportunities. We believe that for many people being confident of their inventions and what may be accomplished with them is the first step. Next they may decide how to approach what they may want to do with their invention. Idea Parlor attempts to help all individuals realize the nature of their inventions, from which they may choose to approach one of the above or other opportunities.
